Petition for changes to the Grenfell Tower Inquiry
We initiated a petition that called for changes to the Public Inquiry so that the voices of the bereaved, survivors and the community will be heard. We petitioned for a panel of experts to support the appointed judge throughout the Inquiry process.
On the 22nd December 2017, the Prime Minister responded to our petition saying that she would not be appointing a panel at that time. Following further petitioning and campaigning we gathered enough support, 156 throusand signatures from the public, the increase in support was facilitated by awareness raised by grime artist Stormzy at the Brits.
The success of the performance in bringing about and exceeding the 100k signatures required to bring about a parliamentary debate, combined with the work of Grenafell United lobbying ministers and meeting the Prime Minister, has led to her making an announcement, appointing 2 additional panel members.
