Don't let the cladding company get away from justice!
Arconic, the company that made the cladding, attempted to get out of appearing before the Grenfell Tower Inquiry. Arconic used an old french law as an excuse for its staff (current & former) who live in France and Germany not to give evidence. They said this french law means that if their employees share information about the company they could face prosecution in France. Grenfell United took a billboard to the French Embassy with a message for the French Government to publicly state that witnesses that attend and give evidence at the Grenfell Inquiry will not face prosecution for doing so. To make sure Arconic staff had no excuse not to attend. Our stunt was covered by the BBC, ITV, Guardian and Inside Housing. The day after our stunt the French Government released a statement. While two witnesses still refused to attend, one of the key witnesses from Arconic did then attend the Inquiry to be questioned.Read more
